EPS (Eco Pickled Surface) is an environmentally friendly replacement for acid pickling. It takes coils of hot rolled and removes all rust and mill scale, even mitigating minor surface flaws (pitting, roll marks, silicon streaks). The lustrous, uniform EPS surface resists rusting, with no oil or protective coating, when stored in dry, indoor conditions.

EPS processing can also produce custom surface roughness (Ra) targeted to specific needs – higher Ra with 'micro-jagged' texture for optimum paint adhesion, or smooth, low Ra for stamping/drawing.
